My Weekend Looks/Gospel Fest Event Pics

Hey Loves... I had such a great weekend. Friday I went to one of my Girlfriends birthday celebrations. It was nice seeing my friends to catch up and share what's been going on in our lives.

My Dinner With The Girls Outfit

Saturday I ran around in the sun, went to a couple of meetings, got me a mani/pedi (pics coming soon), and visited my my Mom and Granny for a while.

And Sunday I helped out at Gospel Fest 2012, a wonderful event that one of my friends Jacqueine Echols helped put on (make sure you check her out echolsj@seattleu.edu to help with your next event). It was an event to honor and highlight choirs throughout the Seattle and Tacoma areas. It showcased the talent of local churches, community choirs, and artists that are all blessed to call the Great Northwest their home. This years participating choirs were Harmonic Diversity, In His Image, The Oliver's, and Greater Works (1st Places Winner). They were all truly amazing and very talented. Aside from the dynamic choirs, the Gospel Fest 2012 team partnered with Seattle Pacific University also brought out some legendary and heavy hitting artists, Lady Tramine Hawkins and the animated and energetic Pastor Dietrick Haddon. These two performers gave everyone a show to remember. They also had some GREAT performances from Seattle's own Michelle Lang & Still Water, Liberty University Choir from Virginia, Seattle Pacific University Choir, and Sounds of the Northwest. It was truly an AWESOME event and the highlight of my weekend. I don't think I could've ended it in any better way. I can't wait until next years event.

Jam of the Week...

I absolutely adore the artist Elle Varner and her music. Her sound and style is very different from what's been rotating in the main stream music world lately. She is so unique that you can't help but to listen to her. am truly in love with her song Refill. It has been on repeat on my Ipod for the past two weeks and I don't see myself switching it anytime soon. It's diffidently one of my favs right now.

Monday Motivation

"Plan your hours to be productive...
Plan your weeks to be educational...
Plan your years to be purposeful.
Plan your life to be an experience of growth.
Plan to change. Plan to grow."

Everyone who knows me, knows I live by my planner. I write everything thing down and if anyone got a hold of my book they probably could figure out my entire life. But I feel that's the best thing to do. If you plan your life and the way you want it to be it's hard for you to get off track and fail in the things you wish to accomplish.

Daily Motivation

Hey Loves...Sometimes you have to encourage yourself and tell yourself it will be alright.

With Spring being such a tough act to follow, God created June...

My Style Inspiration
Ms. June Ambrose

Hey Loves... lately I have been getting asked the question: "Where do you get your style inspiration from???", I find inspiration from many things... the weather, my mood, art, television, blogs, mags, websites and studying other stylish people. Lately I have been drawn to and getting inspiration from one of my favorite stylist, Ms. June Ambrose. If you've never heard of her before and you're like me and love fashion, I suggest you get acquainted with this woman and study her swag. By all means Google her resume. June is a true business mogul and power woman by definition. Not only is she a tend setter/marketing genius and has styled some of the best in the entertainment industry,  she is also a published author of the book , Effortless Style, has held the title of creative director for various fashion brands, magazine layouts, and music videos, all while juggling motherhood and creating her own fashion line. SO YES, June has done it all and you cannot help but to respect her and her craft.

This Woman Can Not Be Stopped...

June has recently launched a turban line inspired by her signature head pieces. They come in bright colors like gold, teal, tangerine, hot pink  and a host of head turning patterns (no pun intended, LOL). The different styles also have fun names like Decadent, Empress, Sweet Pea, and Josephine with prices ranging from $125-$150. June is also set to launch an eyewear line and you can watch her every Monday on her reality television show on VH1 entitled Styled By June... Making Moves and Setting the Trends of Today is what Ms. Ambrose does which is why I love to follow her and I hope you will do the same.  Until next time thanks for having your daily PieceOfPieXOXOXO
